About Jean
Every year we had a children's mission run by the church army team which I
attended with many others, and thoroughly enjoyed.
God was working in my life from a very young age. When I was about nine I
remember hearing God speak to me, calling my name and I said to him that I would
follow him. I was encouraged to read my bible each day which I endeavoured
to practice. We then moved house and the quality of teaching also changed so
until I left home for nurse training, that was as far as my experience went. I
joined the Nurses Christian Fellowship and it was then that I began to grow in
the Lord and gain the depth that was missing. This fellowship was put in place
by God for me because He knew my need before I did. Shortly after I
began training as a nurse my father died - he had been very ill through out most
of my teenage years. Then I learned to understand the very nature of suffering
and could relate that to my life as a Christian.
I eventually attended bible college in Glasgow, worked in Israel, and in
'Glasgow and in Gateshead amongst Jewish people as a nurse and midwife/ Health
Visitor, married Donald and we have three children. I was a Sunday school
worship leader and teacher in the church we attended. For several years
with Donald , I was also a member of the organising team for Wearside youth for
Christ in the late 1970's and early 1980's
I have walked with the Lord now for about 45 years and day by day I keep
learning new things about myself and my relationship with him.
The most important thing of all in my testimony is to say to anyone reading
this, that God is real, Jesus died for me, rose again for me and ascended to
heaven to intercede for me, and he continues that to this day and I just want to
give him all the praise and all the glory for his work in my life.
