Not Guilty
[My friend Mina wrote this poem and I want to thank her for allowing me to share it with any who view this website.]
Introduction from Mina:
I wrote this poem one Sunday morning when I was unable to go to church. I was listening to Premier Christian Radio via Cable T.V. The speaker had chosen his text for that day - Romans chapter 8. I picked up a pen and paper and the words of this poem just flowed from my pen. If you look up Romans chapter 8, which is in the New Testament, you can follow my thoughts.
Romans 8 verse 1 starts with the word "therefore", and if a chapter in the Bible starts with the word "therefore
" there is a reason that it is "there for"!
8
1Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, 2because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death.Look back at Romans chapter 7 verse 23.
23
but I see another law at work in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within my members.Paul describes himself as being a " prisoner of the law of sin. Then in verse 24, he asks,
24What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death?
verse 25 goes on to say -
25Thanks be to God--through Jesus Christ our Lord!
This then is the reason for my poem. We are not condemned because Jesus' sacrifice has set us free from the penalty of our sin. Romans chapter 3 verse 23 says that
24and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.
For those who accept Jesus as their own personal Saviour can know the assurance of Christ's love (Romans 8 verse 35).
.
35Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?Through life's difficulties we are more than conquerors (verse 37).
37
No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.
Finally Jesus own words in John 14 verses 2 & 3 reminds us that one day we will be in Heaven with Him because He is preparing a place for us.
.
2In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. 3And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.May you come to know the Peace and Assurance that knowing Christ as Saviour can bring.

No Condemnation
I am not condemned
I have been set free
All because of Jesus
He broke the chains for me.
I submit to Him
Lord of all in time,
He has won the victory,
And His grace is mine
Standing sure in Him
Grace so firm and true
Justified by faith alone this He offers you.
Come and join with me
Raise your hearts to Him.
Tell Him of your desperate need,
Confess and let Him in.
Hearts cleansed from sins of thought, word, deed,
The Only Hope in Him we plead,
Forgiven, restored, our minds made new,
we die to sin of every hue.
Sins, grey, black, scarlet red,
All under His blood The Living Head.
Assured of Heaven,
Conviction sure,
Our hearts with His blood - sprinkled pure.
The Spirit of Him a gift of Grace,
Till one day in His Glory,
We behold His face.
